On January 29, 2009 at 15:00 on the territory of Krupskaya confectionary factory there was held a solemn reception with the participation of veterans survived in the severe years of Leningrad blockade.
Confectionary factory named after N.K. Krupskaya is known far outside Saint-Petersburg and considerable role in that belongs to factory employees. In the days of celebrating 65-years since full end of Leningrad blockade factory administration congratulated Krupskaya veterans with this holiday.
The theme of blockade Leningrad will always be of a special importance. Krupskaya company management evaluates highly the input made by invited veterans into the history of our enterprise. Arranged reception was first of all the gratitude to factory-worker, factory-soldier, that did not only survive by itself but also saved life to many Leningrad citizens thanks to the products it produced in those terrible days, and of course thanks to the people that worked at the factory approaching the day and hour of the victory, thanks to those, who could withstand and overcome those inhuman conditions.
Philip Wegh, General Director of OJSC “Confectionary Factory named after N.K. Krupskaya” says: “Our factory has always participated and continues active participating in the life of the city, and we of course couldn’t stay indifferent towards such an important historic event as the end of Leningrad blockade. We understand how important were the events of those days not only for the city but for the whole country, and we take this opportunity to congratulate with all our hearts veterans and just citizens of our glorious city, and to thank cordially those, who worked during 900 blockade days and nights. Heroic deed of those people will always stay in the memory of future generations.
In December 2008 Krupskaya Factory management has signed an Agreement with the Saint-Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko on participation in “Debt of Gratitude” Program, aimed at cooperation in developing socially important city projects. 14 leading companies of the city, whose assistance and attention is very precious to citizens of blockade period have participated in the Agreement signing. Over 1000 boxes of chocolates were handed over to the veterans of blockade Leningrad on behalf of Krupskaya factory during city holiday actions.
